Well, this was to be my eighteenth summer on the water and instead I’ve decided to hang up my paddle. I am feeling very excited about the next adventure. I wish to thank Bruce Grey with whom I co-founded SaltSpring Kayaking for his cheerful companionship and easy professional manner as we paddled many miles together in the Pacific, Sea of Cortez and the Mediterranean.
I’d like to acknowledge the contribution of wonderful staff members over the years who have inspired me with their enthusiastic quest for skills and learning and who allowed us to continue a perfect safety record.
To my guests who brought me such pleasure and taught me so much, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Will we ever forget the whales, the waves, the moonlight…
Lastly, I wish to mark the passing of a wonderful man, Peter Marcus who was Grande Pedro to my simple Pedro. He propelled us to Mexico and to a love affair with the vermillion sea. I am grateful to have met this generous spirit.
